As a young skater, Hawk admits that he used to think he was invincible. "I was always pushing the limits, trying to see how far I could go," he says. This mindset served him well in his early career, as he consistently pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible on a skateboard. However, it also led to a series of injuries and close calls that forced him to reevaluate his approach.

A Career Marked by Triumph and Tragedy

Despite these setbacks, Hawk has always bounced back, driven by his passion for skateboarding and his determination to continue pushing the limits of what is possible. However, as he has grown older, he has begun to realize that he is not invincible. "I've had to come to terms with the fact that I'm not as invincible as I used to be," he says.

A New Perspective on Risk and Reward

This new perspective has led Hawk to focus more on the creative and artistic aspects of skateboarding, rather than just the physical challenges. He has become involved in various projects, including film and video productions, and has even launched his own line of skateboarding equipment. "I've found that there are many ways to stay involved in the sport I love, without putting myself at risk," he says.
